Despite a current surge in Covid and many delays with just about everything, as of right now, neither the IRS nor Franchise Tax Board have extended their filing due date. The deadline to file individual tax returns is April 18, 2022.
We encourage phone / Zoom meetings due to the recent surge in infections, but you may request an in-person appointment if you have been fully vaccinated, have no symptoms, and wear a mask.
We encourage all clients to create an account on IRS.gov and FTB.ca.gov to access their tax information. It is a great way to find out exactly how much stimulus money you received in 2021, the amount of your Advance Child Tax Credit received, and much more. It is important to report accurate amounts on your tax return so that you do not receive a letter from the IRS or FTB, which is a hassle for you, and delays the processing of your return. See instructions on the IRS and FTB websites for how to create the accounts, and feel free to call us if you have any trouble.
